The heat from the sun is something that a lot of people cannot stand. During summer time, people will refuse to walk outside because the heat can be pretty intense.
That is why air conditioning is a good way to counter the effects of a hot summer day. Years ago, before air conditioning was invented, people rely on their handy fans made from different materials to cool their bodies. The invention of the electric fan made it easier to get cooled off.
Now, we have these machines that give us regulated and cooled air which provides an environment that is conducive to resting, working and studying.
Air conditioning machines are not just present at home or workplace. They are present in your vehicles as well so that you have a regulated, cool environment. Have you experienced driving on a hot summer day and then suddenly your air conditioner breaks down? You are left to open your windows so that you will at least feel some wind to cool you off.
People have been finding ways to avoid and remove heat even in the ancient times. In Persia, the people have used some form of wind towers to alleviate the heat in their buildings in summer time.
In the 19th century, we have seen the development of the first electrical air conditioning system. This kind of system was conceptualized and invented by Mr. Willis Haviland Carrier.
On a hot summer day, you would rather just stay at home and rest because the heat from the sun can be so unbearable, especially if you are living in the Middle East, Africa, or some tropical area where intense heat is very likely to occur.
You can combat the heat by drinking a cold glass of lemonade but sometimes that would not be enough. You would still prefer to lounge on a cool environment that will help you become more comfortable.
Staying out in the sun for too long can be quite dangerous so you must always be prepared during summer where intense heat is expected. Wear loose-fitting clothes to help you cool off. Wear a hat or carry an umbrella to avoid the direct heat. You should also bring a bottle of water with you so that you can drink water whenever you feel dehydrated.
It has been studied that having a cooler environment is very conducive to working. People are more productive when their workplace is cool, but not too cold that they will shiver.
